J Balvin, Maluma, Piso 21, Morat y Sebastián Yatra están nominados como “Mejor Artista Centroamericano” en los MTV EMA 2017.
La superestrella pop Taylor Swift lidera la lista con seis nominaciones, incluyendo Mejor Video por su exitoso sencillo Look What You Made Me Do, que debutó en agosto durante los MTV VMA. Shawn Mendes sigue de cerca con cinco nominaciones, incluyendo Mejor Canción y Mejor Artista.
Los MTV EMA son la celebración musical más grande a la música internacional, y por eso, las categorías locales latinoamericanas no pueden faltar. En la categoría Mejor Artista Latinoamérica Norte compiten Cafe Tacvba, Caloncho, Mon Laferte, Natalia Lafourcade y Sofia Reyes. El género urbano se impone nuevamente en los MTV EMA con J Balvin, Maluma, Piso 21 y Sebastián Yatra, además de la banda colombiana Morat al ser nominados como Mejor Artista Centroamericano. Por su parte, Airbag, Carajo, Indios, Lali y Oriana recibieron nominación como Mejor Artista Latinoamérica Sur.
Los nominados a Mejor Artista Kendrick Lamar y Ed Sheeran obtuvieron cuatro nominaciones cada uno. El exitoso sencillo Shape Of You de Ed Sheeran ha sido nominado como Mejor Canción, junto con Wild Thoughts de DJ Khaled ft. Rihanna, There’s Nothing Holding Me Back de Shawn Mendes, el remix de Despacito de Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee y Justin Bieber, y el hit pop Rockabye de Clean Bandit ft. Sean Paul y Anne-Marie.
Los Premios MTV EMA 2017 serán conducidos por la estrella pop Rita Ora y serán transmitidos en vivo a nivel mundial, incluyendo América Latina por MTV desde la SSE Arena de Londres el domingo 12 de noviembre, a las 2:00 PM.
